WEEKS 10:pruning and sanitation on the plot

INTRODUCTION:

Sir Zafri assigned us the duty of cleaning and pruning the plot this week. When we prune a plant, we take out its leaves, branches, and fronds, among other parts. Pruning is necessary to prevent pests and diseases, facilitate light penetration so that the plant does not have to compete with other plans, and facilitate the application of fertiliser and harvesting. We are currently pruning the Turner plant that surrounded our plot and have made repairs to a few of the plants to help them stand back. Following that, a few of us continue to clear land as part of the plot's general maintenance;

OBJECTIVES:

• To reduce risk and damage to people or property
• To improve the tree structure
• To restore shape
